On June 6, 1993, Christ Communion Temple began its first service with the membership, at that time, consisting only of Pastor Freddie Thomas, Lady Ruby Thomas, and their four children (Ingrid A. Thomas, Elder Freddie L. Thomas, Jr., Elder Cedric E. Thomas, and Connie R. Lopez).
With each passing year, the membership increased causing a restructuring of the church building and new ministries being form. Pastor Thomas saw the ministry beginning to flourish and felt it was necessary to accommodate the members by tearing down the walls to create a larger sanctuary. However, that building could not continue to house the growing membership and the new formed ministries. In the beginning of 1998, Pastor Thomas envisioned a new edifice for the Lord. He sought the Lord in this endeavor, and in faith, drew a church plan for the new building. For approximately 6 months, the new edifice went through the process of being built and constructed. As a result, in March 1999, Christ Communion Temple was completely constructed.
Today, Christ Communion Temple stands as a integral part and valuable asset of the South Memphis community. For more than 20 years, the ministry has added a sense of stability and hope for the people of God. Many lives have been changed, souls have been added, and ministries have been birthed. It continues to soar, operating for the purpose of winning souls and providing inspiration through activities for community outreach, encouragement, and spiritual growth.
